Privacy Policy
Draft. This policy is still being reviewed and may change.
Hubby is an iPhone app with a personal assistant that helps you care for the people in your life. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who it's shared with, and how to delete it.
What we collect
- Your Apple account details. When you sign in with Apple, we receive your name (if you share it) and an email address, which may be a private relay address from Apple.
- Your device. A push notification token, so we can send you notifications, and your time zone, so reminders arrive at the right time.
- People and occasions you add. Their first name, your relationship, their gender, whether they're a parent, the city they live in, and dates like birthdays and anniversaries.
- Your conversations. The messages you send the assistant and its replies.
- Memories. Things the assistant notes down from your conversations so it can help you better later. You can ask it to forget them.
- Tasks. Things you ask the assistant to do for you on a schedule, and what you told it to do.
- Your preferences. What you'd like help with and how often.
- Crash reports. If the app crashes, technical details about the crash and your device (not your conversations).
How we use it
Only to run Hubby: to sign you in, reply to you, remember what matters to you, remind you of occasions, carry out your tasks, send you notifications, and fix problems. We don't use your information for advertising.
AI providers
To reply to you and to work on your behalf, Hubby sends your messages and the relevant information above (such as the people, occasions, memories, and tasks a reply needs) to the AI model providers we use, currently Anthropic and OpenAI. They process it to produce a reply, under terms that don't allow them to train their models on it. The assistant may also search the web for you; those searches go through the AI provider.
Shopping
When Hubby suggests products and you choose to buy one, we share with the merchant what's needed to start your checkout: the items, the country or city they should ship to, and your device's IP address (merchants use it to prevent fraud). You pay in the merchant's own checkout. Hubby never sees your card or other payment details. The merchant handles your order, payment, and shipping under its own terms and privacy policy, which the checkout links to. We keep a record of the checkout and order so the assistant knows what you've bought.
Other services we rely on
We use a small number of service providers that process information only on our behalf: Apple (sign-in and push notifications), Render (hosting and our database), Temporal (running the assistant's work reliably), and Sentry (crash reports).
What we don't do
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone except as described here or when the law requires it.
Deleting your data
You can delete people, occasions, tasks, and conversations in the app at any time. To delete your account and everything in it, email us at the address below and we'll do it within 30 days. Records of the assistant's work are kept for up to 30 days and then deleted.
Children
Hubby isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
